Recent Projects

A handful of projects to show the skill and diversity of AirConstruct (Group) contracts management.

Bletchley Leisure Centre

A large leisure complex with swimming pools, several gyms , squash courts ,cafe areas etc. Apart from standard ductwork due to the corrosive nature of chlorine in the pool environment , specialist powder coating was used to protect the ductwork. The presence of chlorine meant specialist brackets and dampers. Our contracts engineers are fully experienced in ventilation for pool environments and can provide considerable input throughout the design and installation process.

Lancaster Circus

Birmingham City Councils main office refurbishment. A traditional project which required completion whilst the building was occupied. Staff were re-housed to different floors whilst their floor was being renovated. This meant existing services had to be retained whilst installation of new services was being carried out. Hours of work were restricted as was the level noise that could be generated.

There was a lot of out of hours works, with road closures for crane lifts for large ductwork. (The building is located in Birmingham City Centre on very busy traffic island). The displacement design meant that supply air duct was fitted in floor voids, with chilled beams providing the cooling. However, no matter how complex the project the ductwork install program had to be faster than new build projects. Airconstruct (Midlands) rose to the challenge by implementing a shift system and completed the project well within budget and time. As result of this project Airconstruct (Midlands) became the preferred ductwork contractor for this major M&E contractor and has won several large and prestigious projects with this M&E contractor.

New Cross Hospital

This project contained in addition to standard ventilation , fifteen number fume extract systems connected to various type of fume cupboards, air benches etc. For the fume extract system rectangular and circular upvc ductwork was manufactured. Nine month programme.

Nothing is more prestigious and complex then above listed building. This project has run over 4 years in 5 phases as it is an occupied building. Most other services remained and the venti lation was completely renovated. Site surveys and accurate CAD Co-Ordination were the key to successful completion.

63 Queen Victoria Street

63 Victoria Street is a self-contained office building on a prominent island site in the heart of the City of London. Behind its elegant granite and limestone facade lies 42,000 sq ft of high quality air conditioned office space with:-

This project consisted of roof mounted plant, ductwork serving seven floors, all terminating within the false ceiling with linear diffusers. The project was fast track and incorporated many difficulties with the Mansion House tube station being directly beneath. Delivery restrictions, out of normal working hours, road closures for craneage were all overcome to complete the high quality office complex.
